Popsicles and "martinis"

Friday, June 13, 2014

Summertime . . . and the livin' is easy . . .

What better way to relax than by listening to some happy music and having something cool
and refreshing?

Start out with a pink "martini," a blend of pomegranate juice and sparkling water. A slice of lime in this would be even better.

Or maybe, a cool strawberry popsicle?

Listen to your favorite music . . .

My daughter made these for me years ago, and they remain two of my favorite CDs. The 40s Fun
includes 40s and 50s music from the Andrews Sisters and Peggy Lee to Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. Mama's Mix (so sweet) includes all kinds of great classics from Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald to the Monkees and Motown to favorite movie soundtracks. I often put these on, not while lying in a hammock, actually, but when I have a lot of housework to do. They keep me in a happy mood!

Enjoy your weekend friends!

  2. I love having music playing in the background as I work - Whilst you are enjoying the summer warmth, I am all rugged up "enjoying" some cold wintry weather, however I won't complain as the sun is shinning and the sky is blue!

  3. The martini sounds good; I often drink my Perrier water from a wine glass just to make it a little special.
I've always liked to do my housework to the soundtrack from Grease. :-)

  4. Dearest Deborah,
That indeed was very sweet of your daughter!
Love your photo with the monogrammed napkin and the hand crocheted doily. Did you do them?
Summer is a bliss and we better enjoy it and soak up on fond memories to carry us again through winter...
    Hugs,

  8. How very refreshing and I also love to use a lovely wine glass and such for my juice and water with lemon.
And the popsicle looks yummy! Love the same era of music, as I listen to the Sirus station which I can listen all day long once in awhile! Taking pleasure in the simple things and enjoying it all!

  12. Hello lovely Deborah, it was so good to see your name pop up in my email this morning. I miss your encouraging visits. I've deactivated my comments only temporarily.
I'm off to catch up with your posts. I see a pink martini with my name on it, and I play the same kind of music when I do housework btw. Why aren't we next door neighbors?!? ;)
