Girls' day out

March 9, 2014

Saturday my daughter and I went shopping and for lunch to celebrate her birthday. She had birthday and other coupons for free stuff from Starbucks, Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, and Sephora. She collected her freebies, and picked out some makeup and a couple dresses as her presents.

Here she is, enjoying a birthday cake pop from Starbucks.

I had to take this picture of the matchy-matchy nails and cake pop. Polish is essie fiji.

After being fortified with caffeine and sweets, we headed to the various "candy" counters at Sephora and Nordstrom . . .

I kept taking pictures of her nails! Beautiful eye shadows from Too Faced.

The very nice Chanel lady tried some new colors on her  . . .

And then we went for a delicious lunch . . .

We split this. She makes better chocolate cake, but the toffee syrup was so yummy.
The free lipstick she got from Sephora.

And here she is getting her free body scrub . . .

We had a wonderful girls' day out together. I am so grateful to be the mother of such a beautiful young woman. She starts a new job this week after completing her Masters in Counseling Psychology. And our youngest is home for spring break. He is a Junior and was just recognized as one of ten "rising seniors" at his college. We have much to celebrate. Thank You Lord.

  6. Now that sounds like a fun way to spend a birthday. I alsways think that mothers and children should spend them together as they were the two most involved in the day from the git-go! =D

  12. What a fun day. I LOVE the color of your daughter's nail polish, I will keep my eyes out for that shade next time I'm at CVS. And don't you love all the shades of polish at Chanel? I seriously have to keep away from them, I want to buy them all. I own two, but want more! XO, Jill

  13. You do have many blessings! I love days like that with my girls, and they seem to come less frequently now that one is away at college. She's so smart to keep all those birthday freebies. Her nail polish is perfect. The cake looks fabulous! That toffee syrup is a great idea. Happy birthday to your girl!
